Disney Seeks Up to 20% Cost Cuts Across Its Businesses

Disney is planning thousands of job cuts across television, film and theme parks as it asks managers to find as much as 20% in cost savings, Bloomberg’s Chris Palmeri reported. The 20% target applies to costs, not a share of the workforce, and could be met through layoffs or other measures. Palmeri said the companywide effort comes as Disney pursues double-digit earnings-per-share growth amid slower sales growth and pressures across its businesses.
